Laura Rotalinti - Roma

"I danced classical dance, played the piano and the guitar but... at 19 I entered my first Milonga: love at first sight followed by a boundless love, which led me towards dancing and then towards the deepening of music until to possess a wonderful archive and a knowledge rich in ever-new ideas".

saturday from 21:00 to 1:00

Gaia - Malajunta - Tango queer Catania

In the past I have dedicated myself to many artistic languages, especially theater, cinema and photography, but in the last years I have been focusing on tango, which has become both my favourite research tool and way of expression. I think it offers a double opportunity, for self-exploration, through the experience of the body and the relationship, as well as a means of communication, both in dancing then in djing. As musicalizadora I have had the opportunity to dj in the queer events DeGenere, Berlin Queer Tango Festival, Se dice de mi, L’Isula Tango Queer, as well as in various milongas in Rome, Madrid, Catania. In Catania I co-founded the association Le Tinte Gorgoni, with which we created La Tinta milonga - feminist and queer (where I am also the resident tdj) and, in collaboration with the school Tango Queer Catania, the marathon L’Isula Tango Queer. I care about building a good flow of energy during the whole night, with a lot of “epoca de oro” classic tangos, but also an attempt to raising awareness at listening of women’s music, too long unheard in milongas.

Antonella Scidà.jpg

saturday from 1:00 to 5:00

Antonella Scidà - Tango queer Roma

"I came across tango literally stumbling on it in 2008. It was love at first sight, or rather, at the first listen and since then I haven't stopped. I started "infesting" the milongas in 2008 and in 2013 I started playing music I am grateful to have had the opportunity over the years to play music in many and varied situations, from street tango to the milonguero encuentro, from the marathon to my beloved Malquerida console, never ceasing to amaze myself and fall in love with this magnificent and multifaceted universe. They say I'm the undisputed queen of the march, but in reality my empire extends to the trash curtain."
